About No More Geeks
Life is good when people care about all living things everywhere. - Jerry.
In loving memory of Gerald McCrohan aka "Jerry Edmonton" (October 24 1946 - November 28, 1993).
Jerry was the orginal drummer for the rock-n'-roll band Steppenwolf ("Born to be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride"). Jerry was also a talented photographer, a devoted husband and father, and he was not a geek.
The No More Geeks project is a labor of love. When I was six years old, my stepfather Jerry would stay awake after hours, scribbling these unforgettable poems and Sharpie illustrations for me, which he then left on the breakfast table for me to find in the morning. These bizarre drawings, goofy poems, and life lessons were Jerry's unique way to identify with me and develop me as a youngster.
When I rediscovered these poems and illustrations, long after Jerry's untimely death, I felt inspired to publish them as a collection in honor of Jerry's life and as tools of care and love for other parents and their children. No More Geeks is currently seeking literary representation, but in the meantime you can experience it here on the No More Geeks website. A handful of talented Los Angeles recording artists have contributed music to help expose the younger audience to a variety of sounds. Check back-in frequently to hear new music and to see contributions from our readers, and click on "Support NMG" to find out how you can contribute to No More Geeks yourself.

- Andrew Chapin.
